Tmr is grandpa's 100th birthday.. super huh?! wow, a CENTURY leh! Wish ah gong gd health and happiness \("J)/

Celebrated his birthday last saturday at the restaurant.. all my uncles and their family members attended the dinner.. Ah gong is happy receiving all the ang bao from us all.. sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren =) although he still look strong.. he looked different from before.. become less alert than before.. probably haven't visited him for quite some time..

Still rem last few CNYs when he always makes us laugh and amazed that he's still so 'hip!'.. can u imagine.. wearing yellow/blue sunglasses.. think his frens bring him to buy.. i felt something very strong within.. 'Gan Dong'.. Ah gong, still close to us.. Also when we will see him at the market sitting with his group of RC frens and can spot him from far by his straw macho hat.. charming leh.. hehe.. well, his health hasn't been too gd recently.. hope he will stay happy and enjoy family life..

Last saturday's finale was when the birthday cake comes and all of us gathered to take photo.. Ah gong sat there smiling and laughing.. My superstar cousin was really gd in making everyone so in the mood and joking.. he joke with ah gong as usual.. asking him to blow the candles and taking photos.. We sang birthday song and clapping.. everyone was so happy.. can see how touched by ah gong and first uncle were.. overwhelmed with emotions maybe?? keke.. all of us take photo with cameras and mobile.. like taking photo of 'superstar'.. hehe....

Surely can't miss the chance to take Happy family photo! As the restaurant was abt to close, oni left 1 uncle (only guy) to help us take photo.. cos need to stand on the chair in order to capture everyone..

uncle: "Shu Ma Xiang Ji arh"
Superstar cousin: "uncle, An Zhe Li Jiu Ke Yi Le.. Yao Zhan Zai Yi Zi Shang.."
uncle:"Ok!" looking at the camera.. scrutinising it..
Everyone laugh at him.. hahahhahahahha.... 'Snap!'
uncle:" Dou Yi Zhang!"
Superstar cousin:" uncle, Hai You Liang Ge camera.. hehe!"
Everyone laugh and laugh and laugh.........
uncle did the same scrutinising and 'snap!' snap!'

I took back the camera.. and said:"Wah! not bad leh.. everyone is in.. waah!!"
But J was hidden by my dad in all the photo =(

Finish dinner late.. so decided to skip sentosa.. hehe.. 'Bao Liao' to apple daily reporter to get excuse chit.. keke.. Many reasons to miss sentosa last sunday.. one of them is to go suntanning with J.. cannot lar, I seems to be tanner than him leh.. cannot cannot!!!!!!

So my plot is: to tell him i can't get up for sentosa.. maybe we go picnic at east coast on sunday hor.. then can sun tan.. keke.. but end up we went east coast mid afternoon.. there was body building competition.. but the guys look weird to me... keke...

People sat under the shade.. but we the weirdos laid there sun tanning.. gotta use my new picnic mat =) next time will rem to bring the neckrest pillow from the van =) more comfortable.. J went to get shades but i refused to wear cos scared i will get 2 white patches ard the eyes.. waahahahhaha..... a fruitful experience lar.. wooh.. cooling slurpees complete the afternoon at the beach.. no picnic lar =p

Something that we were waiting finally has revealed.. the result was a failed attempt.. dunno if i shld be happy or sad.. happy: haven't found something really so satisfactory and it's so long to see anything.. sad: we put in some hope.. probably this can be a trigger to something bigger to come earlier.. but then.. conclusion is: let nature take its course =) no hurry for anything.. kai xin jiu hao!!! ("p)

mE can "Hao Lian" oredi.. ("p)/

Jus met ex colleagues tonite.. been almost a yr since we last met ya.. aS our gathering has been postponed all the time.. I'm so happy that we can meet up today!! yeppie!! especially when I organised the outing this time round =) Angels~! too bad our xiaotiantian and xiaojinglinG can't join us this time.. nVm, joleen has agreed she will arrange the next gathering sn! kekekke.....

Tonite's dinner at Moonfish was quite nice =) shared ouR dishes... yumMy.. but service no gd =p bought a bag @ robinsons.. shoPpinG.. kekekek... think the green adidas watch suits joleen more.. but we all know she prefers red.. Kai Xin Jiu Hao Wo!! kakakkak... wait for xiaotiantian to decide lar.. not a bad idea that u gers get red tog lor! strange we have similar taste on bags and watches... 5 anGels got the same pinKie bag rem?!?!

this week jus flew past so quickly... dun rem what I did on mon~tue~wed~thurs... hahahha...
Today's friday!! tmr sat!! yea yeah~~!! finally can meet J tmr.. too busy tis wk..

Bro's bday tmr.. but he gotta fly to taiwan for training after midnite.. hmm, Happy birthday Kelvin!

Been quite a while since I blog...

Yep yep, not really in the mood to say anything last week.. keke.. well, not that nothing 'happening' or happy happened.. either too lazy or too tired to writ anything.. well, so glad I'm back writing.. yeah!! I'm back feeling GREAT again!

Last thursday was our 65th mth anniversary.. this time we did something different.. well, not exactly but know what? It's the first time we had chilly crab =) yummy yummy... enjoyed it with 'Superstar' hahahhah...

Last wk's exhaustion was partly due to the many things that happened to frens.. the stories I hear.. made me reflect on what I have.. sometimes, the habitual things that we do everyday may seems 'normal' and usually taken for granted.. The smsing and daily calls may be 'nothing'.. but to do these everyday.. it's not just 'xi guan' aka 'habit'.. See it in a different way.. How many people enjoy such 'promise' and 'committment' to each other.. Why complain that things are too calm?? why not cherish thing special something that is still there??

So much 'gan chu' huh?! so sad to say but it is something that only now that I learnt.. Be happy and cherish what you have.. seeing it in a different and positive way.. cos maybe that is what things are meant to be.. (",)

This wkend was dampened by the weather and poor mood that me and J are in.. Actually planned to visit the library on sat and go sun tanning cum picnicking with J on sunday..

Can't believe it!! Sat, on our way to bugis, we saw two 'stupid, got nothing better to do' traffic police by the road side taking photo.. "Damm!" J exclaimed. He assumed that he got caught speeding exceeding the limit.. start complaining how stupid this is.. there is no cars on the road and the limit is only 50km/h.. perhaps I am in the wrong.. I dunno how to console him.. tried but failed lah.. I am too in a daze and communication break down.. the whole afternoon was jus shopping and dinner.. we walk and walk.. I also got no mood for other things let alone go library.. jus wanna go home.. angry with myself that J did feel better and we misunderstand each other when I told him we might not get it.. Well, he tried to make things better but gosh, we are just too short tempered that day.. angry with ourselves.. headache headache by the end of the day.. jus want nothing but the day to end.. J went home after I rested and head no longer hurt.. Know I made him miss the soccer match though he din say anything.. cos he knows if he tells me when the match is, I will think abt it.. start thinking what time to go home etc etc and rush him home.. But funny is that each time the opposite block shouts a goal, he will check his phone for the score.. gone thru this many years oredi.. this is where we compromise =)

Sunday.. rainy day.. sun tanning and picnicking bye bye.. can't help but felt so disappointed.. Think my EQ is still so low.. =p J bought me my vanilla ice-blended.. yummy =)

Last nite rally was impressive but think the last episode of the korean show is more attractive.. hahah... well, accomplishment -- watched 2nd episode on tv and the last 2 episodes on vcd.. I know the story oredi.. keke.. the impatient me to finish the whole 20 odd episodes.. =pp

Another big thing that happened around me is 'Superstar'.. after much ups and downs.. breaking of gd and bad news.. I'm glad to announce that my colleagues, parents and J are going to watch the finals at Indoor stadium with me =) Junyang, I will still support u!

Sentosa day \("p)/

Today was supposed to be busy busy..
Schedule: 9.30 to 1.30pm -- sentosa beach volley
2.30 to 4pm -- Ah gong's hse
4.30 to 6.30pm -- Charlie and the chocolate factory with J + popcorn!
7pm -- Sunday dinner @ home

But due to unforeseen circumstances.. hahahha...

Schedule: 9.30 to 1.30pm -- sentosa beach volley + swim
2.30 to 5.30pm -- called mummy and they going home oredi.. so I refused to go
tampines to watch movie liao.. end up laze at J's hse.. craving for
chilly crab.. hehe..
5.30pm -- Sunday dinner @ home.. lucky got food when I come back.. yummy..

Applied suntan today.. wanna try and see how.. probably motivated by J's comment yesterday,, haha..
[walking downstairs to the van] J:"You look tanner oredi hor?!"
[opening the door] Me:"Really arh?! hmm.. (grinning)"
[on the van] Me:"You know, I keep asking my friends each time I think I'm darker leh.. I think they got irritated by me oredi.. so jus say 'got' hahah... I think I get darker thru out the wk leh.."
[driving] J:"Ya, I think take a while to see the difference.."
[looking at J] Me:"I look ok looking tanner?"
[quick glimpse before saying] J:" Yep, ok.."

Well, the above scene and his response may be mild.. but that's what I can expect frm him lah.. no big reaction or supportive words.. hahahhaha.... but I know his meaning lah.. I also think I'll want a less 'fair' me! I like dark chocolates, remember??

Today was promised to be a 'stayhome' day.. but hehe, still went out lah.. but oni awhile keke..

We went to Meidi-ya at Liang court.. the last time I went there was with Joy before our drink =)
I must say that I like going supermarket leh.. not as much as before but still like walking in supermarket and enjoy shopping..

Finally!! I got my pistachio gelato.. we got a double cone.. so chose black sesame for J.. enjoyz enjOyz!! Think had the same with Joy the other time.. hahahhaha.... I said:"We must buy something today ok?? real supermarket shopping!" Asked him what he wants to have for dinner tonite so that we have something to look for.. as usual, no preference.. but I know he likes udon.. keke.. also the tako (octopus)..

As there's soccer tonite ard 8pm, I had to whip up the instant dinner of udon miso soup, tako, prawn+beancurd, chicken pieces.. and had our sushi =) yummy leh.. hahahahha... Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Fireworks is always so beautiful... Although it's jus a matter of seconds and it's gone.. It's always full of surprises and brings so much excitement to people young and old ("p)

Dun worry.. I won't start complaining how beautiful things r not long-lasting... In fact, juz wanna say, it teaches us to cherish n grab life & opportunities like it will not come back again.. CHERISH happiness and MAKE happiness =)

Happy Birthday Singapore! Really.. The future is our to make! This phrase is so meaning.. Touched by the parade, the performance, the ambience, the fireworks, the athem, the pride, the achievements, the involvement.. Touched by Singapore and Singaporeans..

J and I wore white yesterday =) think that U2 polo t jus suits him.. Makes him look so bright and energetic.. muak! spent the lazy afternoon at my interchange all excited by the 40% discounts.. Naive me.. dun puke =p din realise all these 40% until when we were in the middle of our window shopping.. Wow! There's really so much 40% discount offer leh.. but surprisingly, I din get anything.. keke.. J said :"maybe the watches will have 40% off hor? hahhaha!".. We really went to check.. keke, dun have =p

As usual, J suggest we have some snack.. the common answer came to us.. 'Mi jian gui' aka pancake!!.. must be the traditional type.. dun want round ones.. =p That's his craving since last wk.. but I gave the same answer : "Dun have.. big bao ok? Rotiboy?".. So he settled with big bao..

National day parade was accompanied with pizza and J... I have to confess.. J was really excited with the event and was jus talking and talking and talking.. while I trying to look as excited.. hahahahha...maybe i din try enuf when the president arrive or when they do the firing.. cos I was busy popping popcorn in the kitchen and pulled him with me.. Well, I did ask him to go out to watch but... ops, jus missed it!

Back to office today.. yea I can hardly say we are in office.. cos i dunno what I have done the whole day.. but something that I heard frm the briefing.. what makes me want to stay here? what make people or me want to leave the current job? This place has been so comfortable over that last 4.75yrs.. wow, that is long.. some people leave for the challenge outside.. but is there no challenge here? If i move from here to another company doing similar thing and will unlikely be happy or comfortable for the first 1 yr, why move away?
If i have the chance, will still want to open a cafe.. maybe then it will be worth more a move on..

It has been quite a wkend yeah!! yep, 'fang zhong' aka enjoy 'le liang tian'!

I have something to announce \("p)/
We bought our Adidas watch oredi! yep, I know it's not payday yet.. but then sign credit card.. so also considered after payday lah! ops!

The white one was really 'qiang shou' =p We watched a lady buy it and her bf wear the black one and they walked out citychain.. When I asked the saleperson if there is anymore white one, he told me.. "Someone just bought it!" And he himself is wearing the blue one.. keke.. Disappointed.. =p but J suggest we go down to raffles city since that the nearest citychain ard.. I thought Marina has but no leh.. keke.. walked all the way frm suntec to marina.. thru citylink and finally raffles city.. wow! walked so far.. when we got into the shop, i can't see it anywhere.. a sudden rush of disappointment again.. then saw it at one corner!!

I tried the orange one.. looked quite nice too but then, stick to the original plan.. I want white colour adidas watch! Okie, that's my choice and I love it! muaak!
J tried green, black and finally decided on blue.. See the pic above? nice hor! not so striking.. so he can wear more often.. keke..

So HAPPY!!

After that, he insist that he saw the flying plan and there will be a fly past if there's ndp rehearsal.. so after walking so long and bought cds frm HMV, we rested opp esplanade.. tick tick tick.. erm, the watches dun make these sounds lar.. but had fun trying to set the time to the same.. He's 1 second ahead of me lah =p No fly past leh.. So finally gotta have dinner at bakerzin =)

The strawberry shortcake oni has 10 each day.. so I still din get to try the cake or see it.. so decided to try the warm chocolate cake that was recommended by colleague.. Hmm, too chocolate liao.. haha.. Just bought some dark choco frm 'Candy empire'.. ops! so much chocolate.. J warned me no chocolate anymore har!

Booked tix for 'Wedding crashers' at the cafe.. hehe, the person asked if we are above 16.. hahahahhah! Lucky wasn't asked to show IC leh.. ist a gd or bad thing huh?!? there goes again.. kekekek.... I feel so sick after the show.. sickening leh.. but it's quite funny lar..

Coincidently, we catch the fireworks frm marina bay this time at the expressway again.. cars stopping by the side to watch it.. Very lucky leh! when we came out of the millenia carpark, then 'boom'! the pretty fireworks start.. the exhibition of colour firework =) Traffic was slow enough that I managed to watch most of it =) Yep, Not forgetting to capture it!

Something real weird happened last nite.. the newly upgraded carpark at century sq actually broke down.. A whole long queue of cars trying to get out near midnight.. A kind uncle volunteered to hold the barrier so that everyone can pass.. that was half an hour later.. trapped there till midnight! OMG!!

Thought I had quite a great long day oredi and finally can have a gdnite sleep.. but my bro's fren came over to play mahjong! Oh No!! Peifu them all.. including my bro's gf.. they played mahjong till this morning when I left the house ard 8.30am, they still playing leh! OMG OMG! But they jus woke up when I come back in the eveing lah.. erm, no comment lar..

Dunno why.. today quite tired after a while at sentosa.. After the 20%discount on the watches yesterday, I got the national day discount for apply islander card.. hahhaha.. 'wo zhuan dao le'.. keke.. u know how excited i can be with discounts.. hahhaha!

Met new frens at sentosa and we met the 'friendly guys' that Bel called them.. Indeed they are friendly.. this time oni 3.. hahahha... Actually the world.. or rather Singapore is very small.. can meet people easily can immediately have some link in one way or the other.. keke.. it's a small small world..

After sentosa, went to meet J as usual.. When he send me home in the evening.. haha, we meet his fren 'washing her car' again.. Jus met her last nite in the lift.. keke.. Yep, we always see her diligently wash the car every wkend leh.. =p J long gave up and leave it to the manual carwash.. lazy u! But then better lar.. no need to go thru the hassle.. And I still am amused each time I see bubbles covering the window till I can't see anything.. J said last wk.."So many times oredi!?" Hehe, I am like this lor.. Can get excited by the smallest thing.. keke.. I am still very excited abt my watch!! OMG.. can't stand myself liao.. keke..

It's friday again! yeppie \("p)/

Dunno why but I've been feeling blur and confused today.. haha.. mind is at standby mood and not functioning.. keke.. took half day off today cos really sick of doing 'nothing' leh.. perhaps a busier lifestyle will keep people in a more alert state.. now, eveything is sooooo...... stale... sianz.. yeah, that's jus the word!

delete delete delete.. dun want this to be my lifestyle.. haha, that's why i chose to do the more 'lugi' thing.. ie to take the 'precious' life.. silly right?! but this is ME! =p

Well, glad to be able to catch up with Joy this week.. glad she's gonna be the bridemaid for her buddy at Bris.. =) oredi told her MUST send me the photos when the big day comes... Congratulations again.. waah, so many people getting married... 'Wo ye xiang jia le' hahhahah... jus kidding... =p

I have so much craving this wk.. gosh... craving for cakes in bakerzin.. any cake.. well, i dun need to eat lar.. but i jus crave to 'see' the pretty pretty cakes.. hmm, nvr get to eat last mth and J owes me 1! Another of my craving is the Adidas white watch Image hosted by Photobucket.com

hmm, yummy! it's our next aim... Yep, green one for J =p Cun wait till payday.. keke..

Ooh, J's van broke down yesterday half way frm work.. luckily his fren went to his rescue.. keke.. battery flat.. hehe, that's the problem that I know of lah.. well, he got it replaced and yeah, our van is back to normal..("p) yep yep!! both me and J are recovering from our flu.. touchwood! got the new airfreshner for his van.. hope the fresher air will keep us all healthy lar.. hahahhah.....

Still rem 2 yrs ago when he got this van.. it's in nov i think.. not beri happy with the colour initially.. as usual, J think 'long term'.. yeah, it's easier to sell if we get the 'safer' colours.. well, with my adaptability, fell in love with the van after a while.. recall months later when J's dad suggest that he take the light truck, we were so sad.. took photos of this mini van jus before I went off.. thought i won't see it again.. but yea! his dad decided to sell the light truck and we got our van back.. and it has been with us till now.. happy with it still =) felt that we had sometimes taken the mini van for granted.. we haven't taken public transport tog since 2 yrs ago when we go to the aerospace exhibition a yr ago.. J frantically asked me how much it cost to take bus.. Think his ezlink is zero balance!

(madza 5 or honda would be better.. hahahah...) last sat when we were galivanting on ECP, discussing where to go for a trip, i pop that qn... hahah.. dun get me wrong.. i oni said 'can we get a new car instead of a trip?! ops! nope nope, me not materialistic.. dun get me wrong... =p

well, enuf talking abt our mini van.. national day's coming soon.. thought maybe we could join the fun for the countdown for the national's bday.. but then, J said he might need to standby.. =( oh ok.. hmm, jus find something else to do myself lor.. sounds sad huh?! hehe, well, I'm used to it oredi lah.. gotta work mah, nvm =)

Erm, last yr's ndp, J was involved in the help out.. my bro also.. so was at home watching the parade.. still rem us msging each other and feeling so excited.. I was a little disappointed then, but still.. feeling miserable won't help anything.. so jus cheered him up instead.. keke, J has always been the patriotic one.. I know how he felt.. was proud of him to be involved =) yeah, 2 yrs back was so silly.. we went esplanade thinking we could catch the fireworks since I wanted to see the fireworks so much.. but haha, we went to the wrong place.. esplanade can't see much.. eagerly looking for the fireworks like the others there.. but then that we found that the oni take we can see is between 2 buildings.. inexperience lah.. can oni say that.. hahhaha...

This year, J suggest we go and catch the fireworks again.. yeah, he mentioned esplanade again.. also said there will be many pple.. so no plans yet!! see how lah, maybe have dinner at home and watch on the tv?! keke..

The oldest, smallest house you can imagine was about to be knocked down.
All the things that once made the house nice and cosy had been thrown outside and piled up in the front garden, from the soft springy bed the owners slept in, to the old wooden floorboards they used to walk on... and even, surely by some mistake, a little brown teddy bear.

He was trapped amongst all the other unwanted things, and couldn't move.
Then, one day, a very cold day, something fell from the sky ... a little snowflake.
It landed on the teddy bear's little nose and then was followed by many more.
He began to get cold, very cold indeed. More and more snow fell, heavier and heavier.
The little bear was now so cold that his nose started turning blue ... so cold that his brown fur started turning grey.

He was cold, unloved and all alone in the world, and felt very, very sad.

Winter finally passed and the weather got warmer.
One beautiful spring day, a little girl was playing near the old house, when she spotted the grey bear in the pile of unwanted things.
He was like no other bear she had ever seen and she pulled him out from where he was trapped.
She dusted him down and lifted him high in the sky to look at him.
"A grey teddy bear ... with a blue nose?" she thought. "How strange!"
The teddy bear wanted to cry. He thought she didn't like him and would throw him back with the other unwanted things.
"But he's lovely!" she continued and she fell completely in love with him.
She ran home as fast as her little legs would carry her, to see if her Grandma could patch him up as a lot of his stuffing had fallen out, and he was very much in need of repair.

She looked on as her Grandma replaced his stuffing and patched up his holes.
His stitches had started showing where the fur had worn away, but the little girl thought he looked perfect.

It was all cosy and warm in the little girl's house and the bear felt all cosy and warm in his heart. However, his nose was still blue and his fur was still grey, and they would never return to brown.

He was unique among teddy bears.
The little girl gave him a great big hug. She loved him more than anything else in the world, her little grey, blue-nosed...
